THE MERCHANT OF VENICE
The Venetian Stock Exchange where the merchants met for the transcaction of business deals is known as Rialto.
In Act 3 , Scene 1 : There was rumor in the Rialto about the Antonio's shipwreck and his losses became more definite.
Significance :
The wreckage of Antonio's ships and his losses makes Shylock cruel , blood thirsty and stubborn towards the bond. He leaves no effort to spare Antonio from his clutches.
