Given,

Length of the rectangle = 40 cm

Diagonal of the rectangle = 41 cm

We need to find the breadth of the rectangle.

We can find it with the help of pythagorus theorem.

(Length)²+(breadth)²=(diagonal)²

√(41²-40²)=breadth

Breadth = 9 cm

Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(l+b) = 2(40+9) cm = 98 cm.

a² + b² = c²

Find the breadth:

40² + b² = 41²

b² = 41² - 40²

b² = 81

b = √81

b = 9

The breadth is 9 cm

.

Perimeter = Length + Length + Breadth + Breadth

.

Find the perimeter:

Perimeter = 40 + 40 + 9 + 9 = 98 cm

.

Answer: Perimeter = 98 cm
