Metals get corroded due to moisture...
It is their sole property which cannot be avoided.. if we use metals, they have to get corroded.
To avoid corrosion, they are galvanised and anodised(covered with elements which prevent its reaction/painted)

it is because of oxide layer on the surface due to the action of air .

it can be prevented by the process of galvanisation or painting .
