Solution:-

In native form chlorine have more energy than in combined form

and we know that

energy is inversely proportional to stability

so,

since Cl2(product) have less energy as compared to Cl(reactant)

hence,

∆H will be negative

S which is entropy denotes the disorderness of the molecule....

here no. of molecules become less due to combination of two atoms together

so∆S will also be negative

Note:-In most of the cases if ∆H and ∆S have the same sign.....
