Given:

5 - 4 = 23, 8 - 1 = 63, 6 -16 = 32 , 9 - 9 = 78 , 3 - 9 = 6

We have to find, the value of 3 - 81 = ?

Solution:

The patter follow:

a - b = a^{2} -\sqrt{b}

5 - 4 = 5^{2} -\sqrt{4}

= 25 - 2 = 23

8 - 1 = 8^{2} -\sqrt{1}

= 64 - 1 = 63

6 - 16 = 6^{2} -\sqrt{16}

= 36 - 4 = 32

9 - 9 = 9^{2} -\sqrt{9}

= 81 - 3 = 78

3 - 9 = 3^{2} -\sqrt{9}

= 9 - 3 = 6

Similarly,

? = 3 - 81 = 3^{2} -\sqrt{81}

= 9 - 9 = 0

∴ Missing number (?) = 0
