Given :

The ingredient of recipe for 5 person. Carly has to make recipe for 15 person.

Solution :

Ingredient for 5       required for 1 person       required for 15 persons

Chicken = 400 g         \frac{400}{5}  = 80 gram                     (80×15) = 1200 g.

peppers = 600 g.       \frac{600}{5}  = 120 gram                    (120×15) = 1800 g.

onions = 70 g              \frac{70}{5}  = 14 grams                     (14×15) = 210 g

spice mix = 20 g.         \frac{20}{5}  = 4 gram                        (4×15) = 60 g

tortillas = 10 g.             \frac{10}{5}  = 2                                  (2×15) = 30

∵ Carly has the amount of chicken = 700 g.

∴ Carly needs the amount of chicken = 1200 - 700 = 500 grams

Carly has the amount of peppers = 800 g.

∴ She needs the amount of peppers = 1800 - 800 = 1000 g. or 1 kg.

Carly has the amount of onion = 200 g.

∴ Carly needs the amount of onion = 210 - 200 = 10 grams

∵ Carly has the amount of spice mix = 50 g.

∴ She needs the amount of spice mix = 60 - 50 = 10 grams

∵ Carly has the amount of tortillas = 16

∴ She needs the amount of tortillas = 30 - 16 = 14

Carly needs 500 g of chicken, 1 kg peppers, 10 g onions, 10 g spice mix and 14 tortillas.
