Number of panels is 46

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to find the length covered by fencing, we need to find the perimeter of the field.

The given field is rectangular in shape,

Length of field,(L) = 39.8 m

Breadth of field (B) = 20.8 m

Perimeter of field(P) = 2(L + B)

= 2 (39.8 + 20.8)

=  2 \times 59.8

= 119.6 m^2

As per the condition,

One panel being left to be put in gate,

Hence, the condition says, block of length 2.6 being kept enclosed = \frac {119.6}{2.6}

= 46
