Answer:The story of mehouviu and morusa is an Angami Naga folktale.
Morusa is a handsome and wealthy man. He was a great warrior. He would go hunting the enemy warriors and get home the heads of the enemies.
Mehouviu was a young woman in a neighboring village. The most beautiful one.
Morusa and Mehouviu were betrothed but haven’t seen each other yet for various reasons.
Morusa wanted to prove himself to his to-be-wife. He decides to offer her a gift of a human head to prove himself.
Actual Ending:
Not knowing that the beautiful woman is his to-be-wife, he killed her and grabbed her head as a wedding presentation to Mehouviu.
Happy ending:
He decides to attack the woman as this beautiful head with the most beautiful hair would be a splendid tournament. He paused. “Do I really have to do this?”, he thought. He was a warrior and a fearless man. So he said to himself, “of course yes!, what better gift can I offer to prove myself”. His mind was fighting with his heart.
With his mind full of thoughts, he headed towards the girl with a hand on his dagger. The girl gave herself a wave towards him and said, ‘’oh what a good sign!, I see a warrior”. He was puzzled but he continued with his murdering instincts. He thought to himself, “Her eyes my goodness!, but will I be able to keep them open after I kill her?”. His thoughts filled with cruelty and selfishness continued.
But somewhere in him lied humanity. He thought, “Maybe those beautiful eyes remain beautiful only if they live, maybe a family is waiting to see those mild, sharp and pleasant eyes again”. He decides himself to postpone the event.
He heads back home disappointed, a failed day. But when he meets Mehouviu, how overwhelming his heart would turn out to be. His humanity won over his selfishness, only to give him a lifetime of joy.
hope this helps
