There are two complex tissues in plants. These are xylem and phloem. Xylem is made up of tracheids, vessels, xylem parenchyma and xylem fibers. Tracheids, vessels and xylem fibers are the dead cells.

Phloem is composed of sieve elements, companion cells, phloem parenchyma and phloem fibers. Phloem fibers are the dead cells.
