This unit focuses on different types of conflicts in literary texts. In stories, characters can face internal conflict within themselves, or they can face external conflict with other people, nature, or society.
Think of a conflict in a story that you’ve read recently, either in class or on your own. What type of conflict—internal conflict or external conflict—did the protagonist (main character) face? What did the character learn from the conflict? Was the character able to overcome the conflict?
Discuss whether you think the conflict in the story is a situation that could happen in real life and if the solution would have worked in the real world.

Recently, at home, I read the story "The Little Prince" , in which one of the two protagonists ( the pilot ) had to face an internal conflict.
What did the character learn from the conflict?
The pilot learned that children do not have to become adults so quickly and instead enjoy their childhood and innocence.
Was the character able to overcome the conflict?
The pilot (with the help of the Little Prince) was able to overcome the conflict.

The internal conflict that happened to the pilot is a situation that could happen in real life, as adults these modern days are pushing children into the adult world from a very young age. I do think that the solution would have worked in the real world as sometimes humans need something big to happen to truly open their eyes.
