The TV series was Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin.

The Indian soap opera which was aired between 1st September 2003 to 4th May 2006 was Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin. It was  an Indian-themed version of the Colombian drama 'Yo soy Betty, la fea'. It was aired on the channel Sony Entertainment Television.

The serial was based in the life of Jasmeet Singh which was played by the actress Mona Singh who was known as Jassi in the show. She was a simple looking Mumbai young woman who belonged to a middle-class family who stayed in the city of Mumbai.

She is the sole bread earner of the family and a sincere and intelligent worker. She is well supported and encouraged by her grandmother,father, and her dearest friend Nandu played by Gaurav Gera.

She was largely rejected by the section of the society because of her looks. She however makes big by landing up with a job at a big fashion house  Gulmohar, where she is takes up the job of an assistant of Armaan Suri played by Apurva Agnihotri.
