Yes! but first make sure to check the generation of your old i3 processor

and make sure the generation of you i7 is also same as your i3. As your motherboard socket support the same generation processor.

Eg-

If you have core i3-10100  then you can only upgrade to i5-10400,i7-10700K,i9-10900 only.

And if you want to upgrade to another generation then you might need to change the ram if you got a ddr3 and if you have a ddr4 ram then its best. Then you only need to change the motherboard. Also you can change the cpu cooler if you want for better performance and also power supply if your system crashes.
