Thomas is playing a game with rifle in which he has to hit a target. For every guy he gets +4 points and for every miss he gets -6 points . After 20 rounds of game he gets a score of 30. Find the number of misses. Can someone pls solve this properly nd send it to me , it’s urgent pls ( this question is from grade 10 btw)

so let no of guys be x and that of misses be y

so now according to first condition

x+y=20 (1)

and second case says that

4x-6y=30

so dividing it by throughout we get

2x-3y=15 (2)

now multiply (1) by 3

we get 3x+3y=60 (3)

add (3) and (2)

we get

3x+3y=60

2x-3y=15

that is 5x=75

so x=15

substitute it in (1) we get

y=5

hence no of missed he made were 5
