Hey dear,
◆ Thorium is used in light-bulb because -
- Thorium is weak radioactive element found as Th-232.
- It has a high melting point & remains solid even after heating at bulb-temprature.
- When heated, thorium dioxide burns brightly producing white light.
- Therefore, thorium is coated over filaments of tungsten in light-bulbs, TV, etc.
Hope this helps you. Thanks for asking..
