A current carrying straight conductor has a magnetic field around it in the form of concentric circles.
The factors on which the magnetic field depends are:
◆ Current flowing though the conductor- Larger the current, stronger will be the magnetic field
◆ Distance from the conductor- As the object is moved farther away, the strength of magnetic field decreases. So, lesser the distance from conductor, stronger will be the magnetic field.
We can find the direction of magnetic field around a current carrying conductor using the Right Hand Thumb Rule.
