[1] British Government was able to crush the Bastar rebel but it was a major victory of rebels also. [2] Work on reservation was temporarily suspended and the area to be reserved was reduced. [3] It was decided by the British to reserve two-thirds of the forest and ban on shifting cultivation, hunting and collection of forest produce were temporarily suspended. [4] The reserved forest area was reduced to roughly half of that planned before 1910. [5] It was a moral triumph of the people of Bastar.
