Though lipids provide more energy, we rely on carbohydrate in diet. Why?

Lipids store double the amount of energy so in the same amount of carbohydrates and lipids, carbohydrates will have adequate amount of energy to satisfy your hunger and very little amount is stored as fat where as same amount of lipids has a lot of energy that is not needed by your body hence alot is stored as fats
