because filament is made of some properties like high melting point and high resistance.
so heat produced is derictly proportional to resistance

and heat get transformed into light
so it filament glows

but electric wire may not have these properties.

hope it helps

Answer:

. The resistance of electric line wires is very, very less than that of the filament of the bulb. Therefore, the current through high resistance filament produces more heat which makes it glow.
