Though the basic unit of both a flower and leaf is cell, they are widely different in their appearance because all have different characteristics of plastids. One leaf would have one characteristic of placid and other would have a different one.

There are three types of plastids

(i) Chloro plastids

(ii) Chromo plastids

(iii) Leuco plastids.

Though the unit of the flower and leaf is cell they are different in appearance because the cells of leaves and flowers are made up of different elements.

EXPLANATION:

The flower and leaf appear differently and they function differently. They basic unit is cell in both. The cell is made differently in both. The leaf cell is made of chloroplast providing the green colouration to flower. The flower cell has pigment in genome which give the special colour to flower. Hence they appearance is different for both.
