Though the success of green revolution has made india self reliant in food but it is also responsible for degradation of environment. Do you agree ? Justify.

The green revolution in India that started in the early 1960's has led to an increase in the food grain production, as part of this highly yielding varieties of seeds and Chemical fertilizers were used. This indeed helped India to be self-sufficient. But on the longer period, the ugly effects of the chemical fertilizers and Pesticides started coming out. The Natural and healthy varieties of seeds and plants were gradually forgotten, the nature started taking it's toll....
o)The groundwater table dropped.
0)Even though the pesticides worked wonders initially, gradually the pests got immune and newer highly dangerous and immune pests started multiplying.
o)Natural Richness of the soil was lost.
o)Pollution! Water, Land, Air....
o)Machines Replaced Human Labour.
And a loooot moore!!!!
