Mostly rural people depend on agriculture /farming because it may be their traditional or family practice. farming activities are required for future much more than anything.

Presently the  non-farming activities are very small, where, out every 100 labourers/workers only 24 of them are engaged in non-farming activities

  • Some measures can be taken to enhance non-farm activities in villages, which are as follows:
  1. Banks must lend loans at low rate of interest in order to help poor villagers to start business and assist them in making a livelihood from non-farming activities.
  2. Government needs to be more involved and can launch successful job creation schemes. For various small crafts the government must provide the villagers with proper training.
  3. In rural areas, government must provide transportation facilities and sell local produced goods to industries and in the cities.
