Though tidal energy is a clean source of energy, it is not a major source of energy because -

• To be a major source of energy,the energy production capabilities should be enough for supplying a high amount of energy in a daily basis,due to high consumption rate of energy by the mass population.

• Now,this tidal energy production process cannot deliver such huge amount of energy in a daily basis due to the unpredictable nature of the tides of a water body. And, the tidal energy equipment establishment is also a complex and expensive process.

• For,these reasons,the tidal energy is still not used in the mainstream energy production process. But, according to the researchers the future scopes of this tidal energy is very bright.
