though water and oil are liquids ,the oil is thicker and the water is thinner.why?​

There are many possible reasons like ,

  • Water shows Hydrogen bonding but oil does not.

  • Even the viscosity depends on nature of intermolecular attraction between the particles of matter.

  • So oil has much less space between it's particles and much more force of attraction which makes it thicker
