though water can be regarded as renewable resource we are told not to waste drinking water . why?

as the water that is used for drinking is very less whereas the other forms of water like seas and oceans having water in fixed form ie salt and impurities

B'coz the water for drinking is very less in amount whereas the other forms of water can be renewable. The drinking water once wasted doesn't come back to its purest form...
