In Sanskrit thought means बोध, विचार।

मनसि वचसि काये पुण्यपीयूषपूर्णाः
त्रिभुवनमुपकारश्रेणिभिः प्रीणयन्तः।
परगुणपरमाणून्पर्वतीकृत्य नित्यं
निजहृदि विकसन्तः सन्ति सन्तः कियन्तः॥

English Translation
How many such good people are there who are full of pious nectar in mind, words and body. Who please the Three Worlds by successive obligations and give importance to the smallest virtues of others.

उपदेशोऽहि मूर्खाणां प्रकोपाय न शांतये।
पयःपानं भुजंगानां केवलं विषवर्धनम्॥

English Translation
If fools are given advice, they become angry instead of becoming calm. Just as feeding a snake with milk, increases its venom.


कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।
मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते संगोऽस्त्वकर्मणि॥

English Translation
You have the right to do your duty, but you do not have the rights to its fruits. Therefore do not act for the results of your deeds and do not be attached to not doing the duty.


भवन्ति नम्रास्तरवः फलोद्गमैः
नवाम्बुभिर्भूरिविलम्बिनो घनाः ।
अनुद्धताः सत्पुरुषाः समृद्धिभिः
स्वभाव एवैषः परोपकारिणाम् ॥

English Translation
Trees bend when they bear fruits, that means they become humble, clouds hang very low when they have gathered water, good wealthy men do not become arrogant, this is the nature of benevolent persons.
