I think ur talking about squirrel.

Evolution is like a tree. It has different branches and each animal evolves to those different branches.

Evolution is also a lot to do with assumptions. There is a possibility that one squirrel travelled to a different hill. Called GEOGRAPHIC ISOLATION. And on reproducing there, it must have created such a progeny with more variations purely an art of nature.

This might have eventually caused two diff species of that animal, and they grew to be more different from each other at each generation. So different, that now they cant reproduce with one another because of factors like change in no. Of chromosomes. Called REPRODUCTIVE ISOLATION.

Hence now the two species had originated from one, but turned out that they evolved to two completely diff. species.
