Given

  • No. of lamps = 3
  • Resistance provided by each lamp = 1.2 Ω
  • Voltage= 3 Volt

To find

  • Total current in the circuit

concept used :

~Here the concept of Ohm's Law is used. First we will calculate the total resístance offéred by the 3 lamps in series arrangément. Then by using V=IR we will calculate the current.

Solution

First let us calculate the total resistance:-

Resistance in series

 \sf{ \implies R_{total}= 1.2 +1.2 +1.2 }\\  \\\sf{ \implies{\red  {R_{total}= 3.6 Ω}}}

Now according to ohm's law

 { \underline{ \boxed{ \sf{V = IR }}}}

Where

  • v denotes voltage
  • I denotes current
  • R denotes Resistance

 \sf{ \to \: 3 = I × 3.6} \\  \\ \sf{ \to \: I = \frac{3}{3.6} }\\  \\  \sf{ \to \green{I =0.83 Ampere}}

So the current flowing through the circuit is 0.83 Ampere
