Answer:

Other articles will be sold at Rs. 2360

Given:

Three article for Rs.800 each

One of them sold at 20℅ loss and other he want to sold at 25℅ gain

To find:

At what price should the other to be sold at gain of 25℅ on whole transaction

Solution:-

Price of 1 article=Rs.800

Total C.P=800×3

=Rs.2400

selling one he got 20℅ loss

s.p = c.p \times  \frac{100 - loss\%}{100}

 = 800 \times  \frac{(100 - 20)}{100}

 = 800 \times \frac{80}{100}

 = 640

Loss=800-640

=Rs.160

Now he wants to earn 25℅ profit on whole transaction

s.p = 2400 \times  \frac{100 + 25}{100}

 = 2400 \times  \frac{125}{100}

 = 3000

Two article must be sell for=S.P after 20℅-S.P of first article

=3000-640

=Rs.2360

•S.P of one article must be 1180 {2360÷2}

------------------

At Rs.2360 2 articles sold at gain of 25℅

Solution:

Given:

=> Three articles are sold for Rs.800 each.

=> One is sold at a loss of 20%.

To Find:

=> At what price should the other to be sold to gain 25% on the whole transaction.

Formula used:

\sf{\implies s.p=c.p\times \dfrac{100-loss\%}{100}}

=> C.P of each article = 800

=> Total C.P = 800 × 3

                    = 2400

=> Loss% on 1st article = 20%

\sf{\implies S.P\;of\;1st\;article=800 \times \dfrac{100-20}{100}}

\sf{\implies 800 \times \dfrac{80}{100}}

\sf{\implies 640}

\sf{Gain\%=2400\times \dfrac{25}{100}}

\sf{\implies 600}

Total selling price of 3 articles = 2400 + 600

                                                   = 3000

=> S.P of 1st article = 640

=> S.P of other two articles = 3000 - 640

                                             = 2360

The other two articles should be sold together at ₹2360 to have a gain% of 25% in the whole transaction.
