Basic Features of History !!

  1. Historical Knowledge must be based on evidence (evidence literally means 'that which has been seen').
  2. History is not just one story, but several.
  3. Everything must be looked at in a critical way, to check for any errors. Historiasm try to find out not only what happened but why it happened.

The word “History” haa many meanings. In Past events it was an account ; mainly it is the study of events to get their causes and results ; and it is everything about which can be remembered or preserved about the past, but mainly in written form.

For evidence historians use written accounts, artefacts such as weapons and tools and oral or spoken accounts.

To remeber something, People write it down, or commemorate it in some way. This is because events, even important ones, quickly disappear from human memory.

Our lives today seem very different from the past, but there are many things which have not changed, for example, games like chess and wrestling which were played centuries ago are still played today .
