Three beakers A, B, C each with 25 ml of water were taken. A small amount of NaOh, anhydrous Cuso4, and NaCl were added to beaker A, B, C respectively. It was observed an increase in temperature of beaker A and B whereas in beaker C the temperature falls. Which one of the following statement is/are correct 1) In beakers A and B exothermic process has occurred. 2) in beakers A and B endothermic process has occurred 3) in beaker C exothermic process has occurred 4) in beaker C endothermic process has occurred

Answer:

1) & 4)

Explanation:

Exothermic process is process in which heat is being given out, where as endothermic process is heat is taken (absorbed).

in beaker A & B, heat is given out, hence temperature increases and it is Exothermic process.

In beaker C, heat is absorbed, and hence temperature will fall, and it is endothermic process.

so,

options 1 and 4 are correct.
