Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Three bells ring at intervals of 12, 15 and 18 seconds .

Find the L.C.M

12 = 3 × 2 × 2

15 = 3 × 5

18 = 3 × 2 × 3

L.C.M = 3 × 3 × 2 × 2 × 5

⇒ L.C.M = 9 × 20

⇒ L.C.M = 180

Convert to minutes

L.C.M = 180 s

60 s = 1 min

180 s = 3 min

Hence after 3 minutes they will ring together again .

Add the minutes

8 : 35 + 3

= 8 : 38

The time will be 8 : 38 am .
