Three blocks of mass m1, m2, and m3 are connected by
massless string as shown in the figure below on a
frictionless table. They are pulled with a force T3=40
N. If m1, m2, and m3, are 10 kg, 6 kg and 4 kg respectively, then the tension T3 will be ?
Please explain with steps !!

Answer:

T1=20  , T2=32 , T3=40(given) , a=2

Explanation:

T3 = (m1+m2+m3). a       ( bound system moving with same acceleration)

a= 40/(10+6+4)=2

so a=2

T1=m1.a=10x2=20

T1=20

m2 x a= T2 - T1

T2= M2a+T1= 6x2+20=32

T2=32
