Three blocks, P, Q and R of masses 5 kg, 4 kg and 3 kg respectively a
light inextensible string and they are moved on a smooth horizontal
4 ky and 3 kg respectively are connected by a
mey are moved on a smooth horizontal plane. If a force of 24 N
is applied to the string connected to R, tensions Tand T2 in the string are
5kg - 4kg – 3kg
por 24N
(1) 20 N, 5 N
(3) 10 N, 18 N
(2) 5 N, 20 N
(4) 18 N, 10 N

Answer:

18N , 10N

Explanation:

F = M x A

A = F/M

acceleration of the whole system

=Force / Mass of whole

=24/3+4+5

=24/12

A = 2m/s² where A= acceleration

F= force

M = mass

F - T1 = M1 x A

24 - T1 = 3kg x 2m/s²

24 - T1 = 6 N

T1 = 18 N

T2 = M3 x A

T2 = 5kg x 2m/s²

T2 = 10 N

THEREFORE T1 = 18N

AND T2 = 10N

Answer:

The tension T¹ and T² is 18N and 10N

Explanation:

Force = 24N

Mass of the three blocks

P= 5kg

Q= 4kg

R= 3 kg

The acceleration of the block is measured as

F= ma

24=(5+4+3)a

a= 24/12

a= 2 m/s²

According to the tension

24-T¹= 3a

24-T¹= 6

T¹= 18N

T¹-T²= 4a

18-T²= 4×2

T²= 10N
