Three blocks with masses m, 2m and 3m are connected by strings, as shown in the figure. After an upward force F is applied on block m, the masses move upward at constant speed v. What is the net force on the block of mass 2m ? (g is the acceleration due to gravity)

Aluminium oxides are known to be amphoteric because they can act as either an acid or a base in an acid-base reaction. Amphoteric compounds refer to these compounds that can react with both acids and bases.

For example, aluminium oxide reacts with hydrochloric acid to give water and aluminium chloride. In this reaction, aluminium oxide plays the role of base.

Aluminium oxide can also react with sodium hydroxide, a base, to give water and sodium aluminate (NaAlO3). In this reaction, aluminium oxide instead plays the role of acid.

TRICK :

Here the whole system is moving with constant  speed which means that he net force between an of them is 0

OR

Taking the middle part only

Net force = T1 - T2 - 2mg

As the body is moving u , net force on that body provide motion

Therefore T1 - T2 - 2mg = 0

OR

  • Consider the whole block

F - 6 mg = 0 -------- F = 6 mg

  • Consider the first block

F - T1 - mg = m0 = 0 --------------- T1 = 5mg

  • For the last block

T2 - 3 mg = 0----------------------- T2 = 3mg

  • For the second block

T1 - T2 - 2mg = 5mg - 3mg - 2mg = 0
