Answer:

Rs 10,  Rs 20,  Rs 40

Step-by-step explanation:

Ratio of their ages is = 2 : 4 : 8 = 1 : 2 : 4

Hence the ratio they get the money is 1:2:4,

Let they get x, 2x and 4x respectively.

   Sum of money = Total money

⇒ x + 2x + 4x = Rs 70

⇒ 7x = Rs 70

⇒ x = Rs (70/7)

⇒ x = Rs 10

      Hence they would get:

x = Rs 10    ; 2x = 2(Rs 10) = Rs 20

4x = 4(Rs 10) = Rs 40

Given :-

Three boys aged 2 years,4 years and 8 years.They want to divide Rs 70 in the ratio of their ages.

To Find :-

Money would each get?

Solution :-

Let the three boys be A,B and C

Ratio = A : B : C

Ratio = 2 : 4 : 8

Ratio = 1 : 2 : 4

Let the money that each get be x, 2x and 4x

[Note - 1x can be written as x]

x + 2x + 4x= 70

7x = 70

x = 70/7

x = 10

Hence

For A

x

10

For B

2x

2(10)

20

For C

4x

4(10)

40
