The colors of the cubes available are red, blue and green.

Solution,

For every boy to get$\[2\]$ cubes of the same color, $\[2\]$ red, $\[2\]$ blue and $\[2\]$green are to be picked.  

Now pull out two cubes, they may be of different colors i.e. one green-one blue, one green-one red and one blue-one green.

Know that more than two cubes are to be picked and there are $\[3\]$ boys.

Therefore, the least number of cubes that need to be pulled out to be sure that every boy can get two cubes of the same color is
