Three boys sell some magazines for a total profit of Rs. 400. The profit is shared between them in a ratio equal to the number of magazines they sell. If they sell 70, 80 and 100 magazines, how much profit does each receive?

so profit per magazine is equal to 400÷250 = 1.6
so profit of A=1.6 * 70 = 112 Rs.
profit of B= 1.6*80 = 128 Rs.
profit of C= 1.6* 100 = 160 Rs.

Total no of magazines sold by three boys -

Total = 70 + 80 + 100

Total = 250 magazines

Profit earned by 2nd boy -

y = 400 × 80/250

y = 128 Rs

Profit earned by 3rd boy -

z = 400 × 100/250

z = 160 Rs

Therefore, three boys earned profit of Rs.112, Rs.128 and Rs.160 respectively.
