Given:
Weight of first cake = 5 lb
Weight of second cake = 7 lb
Weight of third cake = 8 lb
To find:
The number of guests who can be served
Calculation:
To get the maximum weight for each piece, take the H.C.F of 5, 7, 8. The H.C.F of 5, 7, 8 is 1
Pieces given by first cake = 5/1 = 5
Pieces given by second cake = 7/1 = 7
Pieces given by third cake = 8/1 = 8
Total number of pieces = 5+7+8
= 20
20 guests can be served with one piece each
