Answer:

I assume that each mug is full and there are no left overs.

Factor each can capacity and determine what is “common to all three:

12 = 2 x 2 x 3

16 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2

24 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 3

2 x 2 is common to all three can capacities, therefore, 4 is the maximum mug size.

Answer:

4 litres

Step-by-step explanation:

Factorising :

12=2x2x3

16=2x2x2x2

24=2x2x2x3

Common factor (12,16,24)= 2x2 i.e 4

Therefore, 4 litres is the largest capacity of the mug.
