Answer:

Capacitors in series

\frac{1}{C_{eq} } = \frac{1}{C_{1} } +\frac{1}{C_{2} }+\frac{1}{C_{3} }

                                   =\frac{C_{2}C_{3}+C_{1}C_{3}+C_{1}C_{2}}{C_{1}C_{2} C_{3}  }

i.e.

C_{eq} =\frac{C_{1}C_{2}C_{3}    }{C_{2}C_{3}+C_{1}C_{3}+C_{1}C_{2}}

Capacitors in parallel

C_{eq}=C_{1} +C_{2}  +C_{3}

Capacitor is a two terminal device which is used to store electrical energy.

It is a passive electronic component and the effect of capacitor is called capacitance.It is generally two parallel plates which are used to store charge.
