three capacitors c1=20mf  c2=40mf   c3=50mf are connected in series .if no capacitor can sustain more than 50v ,then the maximum potential difference between the two terminals X and Y is?​

Answer:95 volt

It is the capacitor with minimum capacity that will decide the amount of charge on every capacitor when connected in series given that no capacitor can have voltage more than 50 volt.Obviously other capacitors i.e 40 mf and 50 mf capacitors having charge of 1000 mC will have lower potential difference across them when 20 mf capacitor is charge up to 50 volt and is having 1000mC charge.
