Three capacitors with capacitance 3µF, 4µF, 5µF are arranged in parallel combination with a battery of 6 V. Find the total capacitance and the quantity of charge on each plate of the capacitor.

find: Total capacitance, C=?

charge on each plate of capacitor, Q1, Q2,Q3=?

in case of parallel,

total capacitance= C1+C2+C3

C=3µF+4µF+5µF

C=12µF

we know that, the voltage is same in parallel in all plates of capacitor

charge on 1st capacitor, Q1=C1.V

charge on 2nd capacitor, Q2=C2.V

=24µC

charge on 3rd capacitor, Q3=C3.V
