Answer:

\frac{1}{2}:\frac{1}{4}:\frac{1}{7}

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the distance be y

We are given that Three cars travel same distance with speeds in the ratio 2 : 4 : 7.

Let the ratio be x

So, Speeds are 2x ,4x and 7x

So, Time = \frac{Distance}{Speed}

Time for car 1  \frac{y}{2x}

Time for car 2  \frac{y}{4x}

Time for car 13  \frac{y}{7x}

So, The ratio of the times =\frac{y}{2x}:\frac{y}{4x}:\frac{y}{7x}

                                          =\frac{1}{2}:\frac{1}{4}:\frac{1}{7}

Hence  the ratio of the times taken by them to cover the distance  \frac{1}{2}:\frac{1}{4}:\frac{1}{7}
