so 3x+2y=700...... (1)
and 5x+3y=1100...... (2)
solving x and y
we get x=100,y=200
so total cost of two chairs and 3 tables =2x+3y=2*100+3*200=800 rs

Solution:-

• Let, chair be x and tabel be y

• 3x + 2y = 700 ....... ( 1 )
• 5x + 3y = 1100 ....... ( 2 )

multiply eq. ( 1 ) by 5

• 15x + 10y = 3500 ....... ( 3 )

multiply eq. ( 2 ) by 3

• 15x + 9y = 3300 ........ ( 4 )

substract eq. ( 4 ) from eq. ( 3 )

15x + 10y = 3500

- ( 15x + 9y = 3300 )

y = 200 ....... ( 5 )

Put value of y in eq. ( 1 )

• 3x + 2y = 700
• 3x + 2 ( 200 ) = 700
• 3x + 400 = 700
• 3x = 700 - 400
• 3x = 300
• x = 300/3
• x = 100 ........ ( 6 )

{ From ( 5 ) , ( 6 ) & Assumption}

One chair cost Rs 100 & one tabel

cost Rs 200 .

Hence,

• cost of two chairs

= Rs {2 × 100}

• cost of two chairs

= Rs 200

• cost of three tables

= Rs {3×200}

• cost of three tables

= Rs 600

Now,

=> The total cost of two chairs

and three tables = Rs {200 + 600}

=> The total cost of two chairs

and three tables = Rs 800

Hence the total cost of two chairs

and three tables is Rs 800 .
