Answer :

a) Let the number of beads with Ali be y.

Let the number of beads with Bon be 2y.

Let the number of beads with Kevin be 3y.

Let total number of beads = 100

Number of beads with Ali :

y + 2y + 3y = 100

y + 5y = 100

y + y = 100/5

2y = 20

y = 20/2

y = 10

Therefore, Ali has 10 beads.

Number of beads with Bon = 2y

                                               = 2 x 10 = 20

Therefore, Bon has 20 beads.

Number of beads with Kevin = 3y

                                                  = 3 x 10 = 30

Therefore, Kevin has 30 beads.

Number of beads with Ali in fraction = Number of beads with Ali / Total

                                                                 number of beads

                                                                = 10 / 10 + 20 + 30

                                                                = 10 / 60

                                                                = 1 / 6  (Simplest Form)

Therefore, Ali has 1 / 6 fraction of total beads.

b) Number of beads with Kevin = 30

Number of beads with Bon = 20

Fraction of number of beads with Kevin and Bon = Number of beads with

                                                           Kevin / Number of beads with Bon

                                                                                      = 30 / 20

                                                                                       = 3 / 2 (Simplest Form)

Therefore, the number of beads with Kevin and Bon as a fraction is 3 / 2.

c) Total number of beads = 60

Number of beads with Ali = 10

Number of beads with Kevin = 20

Number of beads with Bon = 30

Together number of beads they had as a fraction = Number of beads with

                                                           Ali + Number of beads with Kevin /

                                                           Number of beads with Bon

                                                                                      = 10 + 20 / 30

                                                                                      = 30 / 30

                                                                                       = 0

Therefore, Ali and Kevin together both had equal beads to Bon. So, the fraction will be 0 / 1 means equal.

d) Number of beads with Ali = 10

Number of beads with Kevin = 20

Therefore, Kevin had 2 times more beads than Ali had.
