Answer:

For them to step together they must step at same distance from starting point which means it is (common multiple of 20, 25 and 30)cm. They will step together for the first time after start at (LCM of 20 = 2²x5, 25 = 5² and 30 = 2x3x5)cm from starting point or (2²x3x5²) = 300cm from starting point.

Since the three persons start walking together.

∴, The minimum distance covered by each of them in complete steps = LCM of the measures of their steps

=LCM(40,42,45)

40=2×2×2×5=2^3×5

42=2×3×7

45=3×3×5=3^2×5

⇒LCM(40,42,45)=2^3×3^2×5×7=2520

⇒ Each person should walk a minimum distance of 2520 cm in complete steps.
