Diameter =2
Area = 22/7*d^2/4
Area of one coin =22/7*2^2/4
=22/7*4/4
=22/7
Area of 3 coins =22/7*3
=66/7
=9.42857143

Answer: The area enclosed by them is 9.42 cm² .

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Diameter of coin = 2 cm

Radius of coin is given by

\frac{2}{2}=1\ cm

Number of coins placed touching one another = 3

As we know the formula for " Area of base of 3 coins ":

Area=3\times \pi r^2\\\\Area=3\times \frac{22}{7}\times 1\times 1\\\\Area=9.42\ cm^2

Hence,  The area enclosed by them is 9.42 cm² .
