Solution

Let the three consecutive integers be x, x + 1, x + 2 in increasing order

Multiply 2,3,4 respectively

2(x) + 3(x + 1) + 4(x + 2)

This aad up to 56

2(x) + 3(x + 1) + 4(x + 2) = 56

2x + 3x + 3 + 4x + 8 = 56

9x + 11 = 56

9x = 56 - 11

9x = 45

x = 45/9

x = 5

Hence, first integer = 5, second integer = 5 + 1 = 6 and 5 + 2 = 7.

Therefore the three consecutive integers are 5, 6 & 7.
