Let the 3 consecutive numbers be x-1, x, x+1.
then when we multiply them in increasing order by 2, 3, and 4, we get the expression 2(x-1) + 3x + 4(x+1)
And it is given that our algebraic expression is equal to 84.
2(x-1) + 3x + 4(x+1) = 84
Expanding we get,
2x-2 + 3x + 4x +4 = 84
9x + 2 = 84
9x = 82
but, 82 is not divisible by 9 without a remainder, so I think your question is wrong. but if the numerical value is 83 = 9x+2, we get
9x +2 = 83
9x = 81
x =9
So IF your question says 83 instead of 84, your answer is 8,9,10
