Explanation

It is given that three cubes of side = 2.5cm.

These three cubes are joined end to end

We get cuboid with length =3 x 2.5 = 7.5 cm

           Breadth = 2.5 cm and height =2.5cm

Here breadth and height are equal,

So this cuboid have 4 equal face with dimension 7.5 x 2.5

and other two face are equal with dimension 2.5 x 2.5

So the surface area of resulting solid = 4x ( 7.5 x 2.5) + 2(2.5 x2.5) =87.5 square cm
